The Saline Youth Council is proud to announce the 2008 Youth of the Year Award will be presented to Andrew Schantz, a junior at Saline High School. Andrew was selected as the award recipient for an outstanding teen due to his extensive service to the community, involvement in extracurricular activities and leadership in FCCLA and the Saline Youth Council. He will be honored at the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Saline Salutes” event on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 5:30 pm at Saline High School. This year’s 2008 Youth of the Year Award nominees all possess incredible qualities and talents in leadership, community service and commitment to making Saline a better place in which to live. They will be honored at the Saline City Council meeting on Monday, April 7, 2008. A reception before the meeting begins at 6:45 pm in the City Hall lobby. The public is welcome to attend. The nominees are: Andrew Schantz, 2008 Youth of the Year, Brennen Arnett, Kallie Kennedy, Megan Lesch, Joe Omichinski, Dhanashree Patel , Elizabeth “Lizzie” Solan, Samantha Amber Sykes, Stephanie Webb, and Jordan Wylie.
