The Saline Youth Council is holding “mentorship” program for 7th – 8th graders on Thursday, May 29th at the Saline Rec Center, from 3:00 – 5:30. SYC members will volunteer their time to interact with attendees. There will be time to do homework, talk, exercise, play gym games, DDR, play cards or board games, or just relax. A healthy snack and drink will be provided. The program is limited to 15 attendees. SYC members, high school volunteers and Parks & Rec staff will facilitate.
The intent of the program is to reach out to middle school students to let them know what high school is like, to help them form a bond with some older students and to get to know peers their own age that they might not otherwise hang around with. It’s also just something fun to do after school!
