The city is actively participating (elected officials, staff, business owners and residents, etc) in the Community & Culture project to develop a county-wide Cultural Plan. As part of the Cultural Plan project, the Arts Alliance is launching a county-wide Artists’ Census. The census will launch next week (April 1) and run through May 17.
Much of the promotion and participation for the census is going to happen by word of mouth. It is going to be important to spread the word and get the creative-minded folks in Saline to fill out the census. The website (www.artscount.org) is now live and in order for this census to be successful, it really has to be a community-wide effort– and we really want for Saline to be well represented. The more voices that are out in the community talking about how important this census is for our county, the more individuals we’ll have taking the census. This in turns means more visibility and credibility to our artistic, creative community!
